Short version: your exports never leave your device.

Files

Processor and bank files you open in PayoutSplit are read and processed by code running in your browser. Their contents — transactions, customer emails, amounts, payout IDs — are never transmitted to us or anyone else. PayoutSplit never connects to your payment processor, bank or accounting software.

Data stored in your browser

We store your settings (account names, Xero codes, date style, options) and, if you buy Pro, your license key in your browser's local storage so you don't have to re-enter them. Clear site data to remove them anytime.

License validation

If you activate Pro, your license key (and nothing else) is sent to our payment provider's license API to confirm it is valid. When you click a buy button or reach a Pro-only feature, the site asks the payment provider whether checkout is open (nothing about you or your files is sent).

Hosting logs

Like any website, our host may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. To learn which pages are useful, the site sends an anonymous, cookieless count to its own server (for example “page viewed”, “pricing opened”, “Pro prompt shown” or the name of the website that linked here) made of only the event name and the page path — never your files, their contents, names, amounts or any identifier. No cookie or local storage is used for it, and it is skipped entirely if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Our hosting provider reports these counts to us only as totals.

Payments

Purchases are processed by our merchant-of-record payment partner, which handles your payment details and sales tax under its own privacy policy. We never see your card number.
